Luso-Canadian is Pop Music’s newest star

Move over, Nelly Furtado. There’s a new Portuguese pop star on the rise, and this one is giving Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas a run for their money.

Last Month, Luso-Canadian Shawn Mendes shared big news that his full-length album Handwritten will hit stores on April 28, although the album is already available for pre-order.

The Luso-Canadian singer, who got his start on Vine, was born in Toronto and raised in Pickering, a suburb of the city. Mendes is the son of Karen and Manuel Mendes, a businessman of Portuguese descent with roots in Lagos, Algarve.
