RIDGEFIELD, CT: Sandra Martins named 2024 New Leader in Banking by Connecticut Bankers Association
Sandra Martins, Vice President of Retail Banking Audit, Compliance and Training at Fairfield County Bank, received the 2024 New Leaders in Banking award from the Connecticut Bankers Association. This award recognizes an up-and- coming class of noteworthy bankers across the state, who have made significant contributions to their organization.
“Sandra has demonstrated leadership qualities in several ways, but the most significant is in her ability to recognize when change needs to take place and how to implement that change without creating disruption in the client-facing world of Retail Banking,” said Andrea Coreau, Executive Vice President of Retail Sales and Operations Leader. “She is committed to the betterment of the Retail Banking team, always making herself available to whomever needs her help, and readily sharing her knowledge and her expertise.”
Nominees who demonstrated they made a notable impact within their bank and community were selected by an independent panel of judges. The recipients were honored at the New Leaders Awards Ceremony at the Mohegan Sun on January 11.
Mrs. Martins joined the Bank in 2007 and has held key roles in the Retail Banking Department with her current position being Vice President of Retail Banking Audit, Compliance and Training. Sandra graduated from Western Connecticut State University, the Connecticut School of Finance and Management (CSFM), and the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundational Compliance School. Outside of work, Sandra volunteers her time with Sons of Portugal Folklore and mentorship programs within the Danbury Public School system.
