Amigos do Vale USA members meet at Sport Club Português

On Saturday, February 22, members of the Portuguese organization Amigos do Vale USA gathered at Sport Club Português, in Newark, NJ, for a special meeting that was attended by family and friends.

The event was an opportunity to those present, to socialize and strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite the community.

Founded in October 2020, Amigos do Vale USA has promoted several events and initiatives over the past four years, that have already raised more than 200 thousand dollars in support of important causes in the parish of Vale and the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, located in Portugal.

During the meeting, members also had the opportunity to elect a new board of directors, marking generational transition moment. 

Since its founding, the organization has been led by Jack Costa, Tony Cardoso, Cristina Antunes and Lillian Cerqueira, who have played a fundamental role in the growth and success of the association.

The new board, elected unanimously, is composed of:

•  President: Lillian Cerqueira;

• Vice-Presidents: Emily Cerqueira and Pedro Soares;

• Treasurer: Amy Antunes.

This moment was received with great pride by all present, highlighting the enthusiasm and commitment of the youth in assuming leadership roles and contributing to the future of the organization.
