The Government of the Azores, through the “Burra de Milho” Cultural Association, presents “AMOSTRAM’ISSE” – Azores Film Show.
The event already took place in four cities during 2013, Angra do Heroísmo, Horta, Ponta Delgada and Lisbon, and in 2014 in Porto, in a joint effort with a large number of partners, promoting the cinema and Azorean filmmakers, reaching about 700 spectators. At the end of the year it will visit four more Portuguese cities.
Besides Portugal, these movies by Azorean filmmakers will be shown in communities that host Azoreans all over the world. This year the show will be brought to Canada and the United States of America.
The following films, subtitled in English, will be shown at UMass Dartmouth on Monday, October 20, 2-3 pm (Library, room 314).
– Alabote (João Botelho e João Garcia, 2013, fiction, 11′)
– 50 Argentinian Pesos (Bernardo Cabral, 2012, fiction, 12’)
– The Banana from Pico (Luís Bicudo, 2012, documentary, 27’)
