Ferry Street shines bright on a rainy day
The Ironbound is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Newark, home to many communities with traditions of music and dance.
Last Sunday, June 25th, the “Ironbound Arts on Ferry Street” celebrated the neighborhood’s cultural diversity.
Ferry Street was the ‘stage’ of many performances by musicians and dancers, with some acts taking place inside commercial spaces due to the unexpected rain, which insisted on coming out.
Sol-Mar restaurant, Casa Nova Grill, Sabor Unido, Ferry Street Barbecue and Adega Grill hosted the performances.
At Adega Grill, Mike Santos, Wyl White and Beto Andrade were the featured artists, with Car-los Ferreira on drums.
Those who passed by could not resist the party, as the Adega Grill did not let the rain spoil the good mood, and the locals remained outside listening to good music, taking a break between dancing and delicious dishes.
Wyl White is a hip hop, soul and rock singer-songwriter. In addition to being a musician, White is also an actor and dancer. His approach to the set involves unforgettable vocal tone, dreamy guitar sequences and beautiful live violin arrangements.
Mike Santos is a composer whose influences are pure echoes of the “90s revolution”. From pop rock to grunge, Santos’ compositions result in modern-era grunge. Santos is a “one man band” and writes his records alone.
