Flowers along Ferry Street in Newark, NJ make the Ironbound shine brighter
Once again, Ferry Street was decorated with flowers for several blocks, as it has been happening in the beginning of each summer season.
The initiative came from the Ironbound Business Improvement District (IBID) and its president Manny Lopes, who appealed to other business owners who have pots near their stores to “water the flowers from time to time, as the watering company will come in only a few times due to the high cost and if the effort is shared by everyone, it will be easier”.
“I hope the community likes it, I know that merchants and residents usually like it”.
President Manny Lopes also asked people not to throw garbage into vases or steal flowers, as is often the case.
