Guarda Wine Fest takes place in July with 50 plus wine producers from Beira Interior

 More than 50 wine producers from Beira Interior will participate in the second edition of Guarda Wine Fest, which will take place from July 14 to 16, in Alameda de Santo André.

The event aims to promote wines and the territory, promoted by the Municipality of Guarda and the Regional Wine Commission of Beira In-terior, and includes wines, gastronomy, concerts, ‘wine parties’ and experiences.

According to the or-ganization, the Guarda Wine Fest “aims to bring together more than 50 wine producers from Beira Interior”.

On Wednesday, the promoters recall that in the district of Guarda is the base of many of the most exciting wines Portuguese”.

The producers represented at the annual event “will present new products as well as their  iconic wines, recognized by many consumers”.

The source said the Guarda Wine Fest is “a unique opportunity to challenge the authors, more easily capturing grape varieties and understandings of viticulture and oenology, traveling in the glass through a multitude of landscapes and special places”.

Gastronomy is also part of “the menu” in the event and there “will two renowned chefs for the ‘show cooking’ sessions, where master culinary techniques will enhance the unique authenticity of local products”.

“At the same time, three catering locations will be operating, with proposals designed to enhance the best of both worlds, wine and gastronomy”, said the organization.

The event includes jazz concerts and two ‘wine parties’ “with the motto of celebrating summer with a glass in hand, in an intimate atmosphere, to the sound of renowned guest DJs”.

12 national ‘sommeliers’ will be at the event and a ‘tour’ through the Beira Interior region, with the aim of providing business and promoting its wines.

Guarda Wine Fest will have free entry.

The region is headquartered in Guarda, at Solar do Vinho, and covers the wine-growing areas of Castelo Rodrigo, Pinhel and Cova da Beira, in the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco, which correspond to an area of 20 municipalities, accounting for close to 5000 winegrowers.

In its area there are about 70 wine producers, four of which are cooperative wineries and the private producers.
