Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship awarded to composer Andreia Pinto-Correia
One of the most prestigious fellowships in the United States was awarded to a Portuguese composer. On April 9th, Andreia Pinto-Correia was awarded the “John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation” 2015 Fellowship for her musical accomplishments.
This year marks the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation’s 91st anniversary, and 173 Fellowships were awarded to a varied group of 175 scientists, scholars, and artists from a group of over 3,100 applicants. The Guggenheim honors professionals who have published exceptional work in natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and the creative (but not performing) arts.
