New documentary on the 1967 riots’ impact on modern-day Newark
This past Saturday, June 13th, a private screening of a new film about Newark debuted at Seton Hall University.
The documentary “The Week That Changed the World”, by filmmaker Kevin McLaughlin, takes a fresh look at the monumental Newark riots of 1967, a time in American history brimming with police brutality, economic inequality, and racial discrimination, which many contend reflect modern day situations in places like Baltimore and Ferguson.
