New Jersey’s Red Bull Arena renamed Sports Illustrated Stadium

As the popularity of soccer continues to skyrocket, Sports Illustrated is stepping into the stadium naming rights game. Red Bull Arena in Harrison is now Sports Illustrated Stadium. While financial terms have not been made public, the 13-year deal for the 25,000-capacity home of the reigning MLS 2024 Eastern Conference Champions is a first for the sports publication.

“We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking long-term partnership with Sports Illustrated Tickets and the iconic Sports Illustrated brand.” said Marc de Grandpré, President, New York Red Bulls.

According to CNBC, part of the agreement includes Sports Illustrated Tickets becoming the “Official Ticketing Partner” in 2026. The deal covers not only Red Bulls matches, but all Gotham FC games, international soccer matches, concerts and events. Sports Illustrated Tickets will make its fan-favorite Sports Illustrated Fan Cover part of every event. All attendees will go home with a digital keepsake. For those seeking a heightened experience, Club SI will offer VIP access, food, and drinks as part of a premium fan experience.

“For seven decades, Sports Illustrated has represented the best in sports and culture,” said Sports Illustrated Tickets CEO, David Lane. “Through this global partnership and iconic venue, we aim to showcase our vast portfolio of media, live event ticketing, hospitality and fan experiences as we continue to partner with leagues, teams, artists and venues around the world. Sports Illustrated Stadium is much more than just a venue – it’s a celebration of history, innovation and the unforgettable experiences that unite us all.”

Sports Illustrated got its start in 1954 as a weekly magazine and has been a staple for sports fans ever since. The company has reimagined itself over the last decade as the media landscape has transformed. Sports Illustrated Tickets premiered in 2021 as a blockchain-based primary and secondary ticketing marketplace. Today the company boasts more than $2 billion in inventory and 50 million sports, concert and theater tickets to events worldwide. Authentic Brands Group owns the brand and the publisher is Minute Media.

The Red Bulls were founded as the MetroStars in 1994 and have competed in MLS since the inaugural 1996 season. Austrian energy drink company Red Bull purchased the team in 2006. The Red Bulls played home games in Giants Stadium until Red Bull Arena opened in 2010.

The team just announ-ced its 2025 schedule. The season starts on Fe-bruary 22nd at FC Cin-cinnati. The first match at Sports Illustrated Sta-dium features the Red Bulls vs Nashville SC on Saturday, March 1st.
