Newark kicks off Guaranteed Income Task Force



Mayor Ras J. Baraka recently announced that the city of Newark launched its Guaranteed Income Task Force with a meeting at the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation, hearing presentations from the Economic Security Project and the Jain Family Institute, two national leaders in the field who are providing technical assistance to the city.  The meeting was also joined by Chicago Alderman Ameya Pawar, a Co-Chair of the Chicago Resilient Families Task Force, which just concluded its work and recommended a guaranteed income pilot in Chicago.
