NEWARK, NJ | Brick City Speaks presents: After the Carnations
Brick City Speaks, a monthly reading series of poetry, prose, and memoir held at Hell’s Kitchen Lounge, will present a special Portuguese-American reading on April 13, from 8-10pm. “After the Carnations: Writing the Luso-American Experience in Newark” will feature four phenomenal Luso-American poets and writers who explore their cultural heritage as first- and second-generation products of a post-Salazar Portugal and the immigrant experience in Newark.
