Newark will have more than 250 new officers on city’s streets by June 2016, mayor announces

On Tuesday, September 1, Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council, and Police Director Eugene Venable announced that more than 250 new police officers will be added to the ranks as of June 2016, attributable to incoming academy classes over the next several months.
