Pegasus Sporting Goods has a fresh look following Ironbound’s continuing evolution
Last Saturday, March 25th, the Pegasus Sporting Goods marked its new era with a grand re-opening party.
Located at 101 Ferry St, the sporting goods store was bought this past September by Pedro Pires and Tony Pereira Jr.
Now, the store has a new look, in accord with the evolution that the Ironbound has taken in recent years.
“The end of last year was very busy due to the world cup, so we decided to wait for this renovation.
We had the collaboration of Jacinto Padim from Padim Studio, who created this new design”, revealed Pedro Pires.
The new space is now wider, with the use of an area that was previously used as ‘storage’.
“When we looked at the space, we immediately realized that this expansion would allow us to increase our store space by 30%, which helps us to reduce congestion at busy times like the weekend or the World Cup season”, said Tony Pereira Jr”.
Wanda Pires, besides being a key contributer to the stroe’s new face, is also the proud mother of Pedro, who, while working at Pegasus, dreamed of being owner some day.
Last week’s event was full of excitement with a few members from the New York Red Bulls in attendance, including Scottish superstar, Lewis Morgan, who signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
Customers got a chance to win Red Bulls t-shirts by winning challenges.
Portuguese business man, Tony Pereira is also a proud father of Tony Jr.
“I was super excited with the idea of buying and remodeling this store.
I am very proud of Pedro and Tony, and it’s really good to see young people taking their chances in business, said Tony Pereira.
