PORTUGAL DAY CELEBRATION: Flag Raising ceremony at Newark City Hall

 

The Flag Raising ceremony for this year’s Portugal Day celebration will take place on Saturday, June 3, at 1 pm, in front of City Hall in Newark, New Jersey, on 920 Broad Street. The program during the flag-raising includes the following:

  • National anthems – by Kevin Resendes
  • Opening remarks – by Luís Pires
  • Welcome – by Councilman Augusto Amador
  • Musical moment – by Pedro Botas
  • Remarks – by General Consul of Portugal, Dr. Pedro Oliveira and by Ras Baraka, the Mayor of Newark.
