“Portugal in Soho” invites the public to remember the Soho of the past, when Portuguese people arrived in that NYC area, in search for a new life.
The Arte Institute, organizer of the event, wants to recreate the landmarks of that community with an unforgettable journey through time, with the following program:
May 27 – Rumos Ensemble Concert at the Crosby Street Hotel, at 7:30 pm
May 29 – Outdoors event in Soho Square, from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. There will be performances by Portuguese artists; Art Show “um pequeno país do lado do oceano”, with the participation of Portuguese schools from Long Island and NJ; free workshops for children and adults; historic places of the Portuguese in Soho tours; Portuguese library; and Portuguese food and wine tasting.
May 31 – Rodrigo Costa Felix Fado Concert at Crosby Street Hotel, at 7:30 pm.
