Portuguese-American author Brian Sousa reading at Rutgers University
Brian Sousa, Portuguese-American author of the critically acclaimed novel Almost Gone, will participate in a literary reading, book sign-ing and discussion at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.
The event, which is being coordinated by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and by the Portuguese Club “Os Lusíadas”, will take place tomorrow, November 13, from 10 am – 11:20 am, at the Dana Room, Dana Library 4th Floor, 185 University Avenue.
Refreshments will be served.
“In the hardscrabble world of Brian Sousa’s debut novel-in-stories Almost Gone, the youth struggle with the secrets left behind by their elders, just as their parents fought through the pain and joy of assimilation. Told through various perspectives, the book is a working-class tale of survival that finds no easy answers, but cuts straight to the bone.”
