In preparation for the midterm Democratic election agenda, President Barack Obama appointed Portuguese descendant David Simas as director of Political Strategy and Outreach.
David Simas, who has worked on the president’s reelection campaign, headed polling and focus groups in the 2012 campaign cycle and last year served in the coordination of the administration’s message on Obamacare.
He will become the president’s point person for working with Democrats on the midterms, which Mr. Obama has called crucial to implementing his agenda over his final two years in office.
Prior to serve under the Obama administration, David Simas was an aide to Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick.
