Portuguese Language Education Conference

This year’s Portuguese Language Education Conference was held on November 8, at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, located in the consular area of New Bedford.

Organized by the University’s Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture, the event also had the support from Camões I.P., the Coordination of Portuguese Education in the USA, FLAD, Porto Editora and LIDEL.

Around 40 teachers from primary and secondary education were present, in addition to university professors.

Invited by CEPE-EUA and the organizers, trainer Helena Bayan promoted a series of training workshops dedicated to methodologies and materials that can be used by teachers of Portuguese as a non-mother language.

This Conference featured presentations of teaching and learning platforms from PORTO EDITORA and LIDEL.

Also present at the opening was the Consul of Portugal in New Bedford, Tiago Cabrita de Sousa.
