Rutgers New Jersey Medical School students awards 2021/2022 scholarships from the Luso-American Fraternal Association

The following are recipients of the Luso-American Fraternal Association endowed scholarships:

 

Victoria Ribeiro

VICTORIA RIBEIRO

A second year medical student at NJMS, Victoria Ribeiro is passionate about providing care to and addressing health burdens in her community.

As a medical student she currently volunteers at Ironbound Initiative, a health clinic in the Ironbound section of Newark and is a member of the Distinction in Medical Education Program.


Stephanie Perricho

STEPHANIE PERRICHO

A second year medical student at NJMS, Stephanie Perricho is a first generation college graduate with both of her parents being born in Portugal.

As for her future career path she is still exploring what kind of doctor she would like to be.


Alexandre Martins

ALEXANDRE MARTINS

The first member of his family to attend college, Alexandre went to Rutgers in New Brunswick where he double majored in biology and english.

He is now in his final year of medical school at Rutgers NJMS.

He is  currently applying for a residency program in family medicine.


Ashley Castan

ASHLEY CASTAN

A first year medical student at NJMS, Ashley Castan is a proud daughter of two Portuguese immigrants and has always been interested in Medicine.

As a first generation of Portuguese-American she is very grateful for all the sacrifice made by her parents.
