Traditional Festival to be held at Azores Club

The Azores Social & Sports Club of Newark will once again promote the festivities in honor of the “Divino Espírito Santo”, a tradition that has been repeated in the Wilson Avenue community since 1979.

This year, the festivities last from May 27 to 30, with a lively program and also of a religious nature. On the 27, the festivities include a fair at the club’s headquarters, with music by ‘Sound Voyage’.

On the 28th, the ceremony of blessing and distribution of free food will take place in the club’s hall, starting at 8:00 am, with the participation of musicians from the Our Lady of Fátima band.

The band “Legacy” from Massachusetts will also perform.

Sunday, the 29th, departure from the association’s precinct at 9:45 am, heading to the Church of Our Lady of Fátima in Newark, with the Banda Senhora da Conceição Mosteirense, from Fall River, MA.

After the mass and the return of the procession to the festivities, there will be the traditional D.E.S. soups, with the kitchen opening at 11:30 in the morning. This day’s musical entertainment will be animated by the band “Edge”, from Massachusetts.

Monday, the 30th features food and drinks from 11:30 am and bazaar at 5:00 pm. The festival is once again animated by the group “Sound Voyage”.
