“Turn of the Tide” proven a success by reaching the top worldwide on Netflix

The Portuguese TV series “Turn of the Tide” has already entered the top 10 worldwide on Netflix.

The series, which ranks first in the top of the most watched series in Portugal, has been successful in several European and South American countries. 

In Argentina and Uruguay, for example, it reached the 4th place in the top and in Malta and Luxembourg in 2nd place. In Spain, it has occupied third place in the ranking in recent days.

Also in Brazil it is among the favorite series, settling in 5th place. By the way, it is the same place that it occupies in the top of several European countries: Croatia, Greece, Italy. In the Bahamas, it is in 2nd place.

“Turn of the Tide” arrived last Friday on Netflix and has been a success. 

It was one of the 10 winning projects in the scriptwriting contest promoted by the streaming platform in partnership with the Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual.

The series is a Ukbar Filmes production, written and created by the Azorean Augusto Fraga and directed by Fraga and Patrícia Sequeira.

Inspired by a real event, “Turn of the Tide” is a thriller that tells the story of four friends whose lives are turned upside down when a ton of cocaine washes up on the coast of a small Azorean village. A case that was addressed by SIC in the Special Report “The island betrayed by the sea” , issued in August 2019.
