Cristiano Ronaldo signs for Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia
The Portuguese international soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo will be presented at Al Nassr, in Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday at 19:00 local time (16:00 in Lisbon), the new club announced today for the 37-year-old striker.
“All eyes in Riyadh are presented for the presentation of the best in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, with the colors of Al Nassr, for the first time”, can be read in a note published on the social network Twitter by the Saudis.
According to the club, the player will be presented at Mrsool Park, Al Nassr’s stadium, in Riyadh.
The Portuguese ‘star’ is still expected today in Riyadh, having already published a video on social networks from the plane on which he travels to that Saudi city.
The ‘captain’ of the Portuguese national team, aged 37, heads to Saudi football, after having terminated his contract with Manchester United, which he represented a second time in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
Before starting the 2022 World Cup, Ronaldo, who grew up at Sporting and represented Real Madrid (2009/2018) and Juventus (2018/-2022), assumed he felt “betrayed” and disrespected by the ‘red devils’ , with whom he scored 145 goals in 346 games.
With 194 games for Portugal’s main team, and 118 goals, he adds 451 goals for Real Madrid, in ‘only’ 438 meetings, and five for Sporting, in 31 games.
Currently guided by the French Rudi Garcia, and with the Brazilian Talisca (ex-Benfica) and the Cameroonian Abou-bakar (ex-FC Porto), Al Nassr occupies the first place of the Saudi League, after 11 rounds, with 26 points, one more than than Al Shabab, who have one game less.
Al Nassr has nine Saudi championship titles, the last of which in 2018/19.
