RI strip club reaches multi-million settlement with models
Wonderland strip club owned by the luso-american Steven Medeiros has reached a $1.9-million settlement with more than two dozen actresses, models and entertainers who accused the club of appropriating their images.
The 257 Allens Ave. club reached a multi-million settlement agreement last week with 28 women who accused the club of damaging their reputations by using their images in advertisements and social-media posts without their permission and without pay.
According to the agreement, the women will now seek to collect the claim from the club’s insurer, Princeton Excess and Surplus Lines Insurance Co. for images used between 2016 and 2018. In exchange, the women agreed to dismiss their lawsuit, with prejudice.
The agreement was signed by Steven Medeiros, president and owner of RI Cranston Entertainment, the corporate entity that owns the club; U.S. District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr.; and several of the women.
