SEF opens counters for displaced Ukrainians
Foreigners and borders agency (SEF) is opening service counters dedicated exclusively to Ukrainian citizens.
SEF said these counters will be operating in delegations across the country and at the National Centre for Support for the Integration of Migrants (CNAIM).
The service stresses these counters will operate “exclusively with SEF staff who have volunteered to receive requests for temporary protection from Ukrainian citizens and will not clash or interfere with the schedules of other foreign citizens”. The agency adds that this demonstration of solidarity, has allowed the creation of dedicated branches, from north to south of the country and islands, which allows “speeding up and simplifying the processing of cases.
The Portuguese government approved a resolution on Tuesday granting temporary protection to persons displaced from Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion.
