Victory for the Ironbound Soccer Club United 08
This past Saturday the Ironbound Soccer Club (ISC) United Team 08 played Princeton Soccer Academy for the “US Youth Soccer National Leagues PRO”. Around noon, at Eddie Moraes Stadium in Ironbound, Newark, the young United team could already be seen performing their warm-up routine.
Under the guidance of coach Carlos Pernas and his assistants, the ISC team managed to defeat their opponents and thus qualify for the finals.
The United team started the game well, creating several goalscoring situations and always maintaining a positive attitude on the pitch. With high ball possession and good tactical play, United dominated the game taking a 2-0 lead by half-time.
With a total of almost 20 players, the United squad benefitted from the protection of goalkeeper Diogo da Silva, the effectiveness in front of the goal of forward Henry Griffiths (2 goals) and all the support and talent of its remaining players, including defenders Wolfe Ginsberg and Alexander Sorensen and young Portuguese-speaking players Ruben Oliveira, Logan Pimentel and Matheus Lopes.
In the second half of the game, the United team again showed more unity and greater technical skills than its opponents.
Nico Ranieri scored the third goal of the game, closing the result against the Princeton Nationals.
