County of Union, NJ – Celebrating Earth Day

County Commissioners joined Mayor Chris Bollwage, Senator Joe Cryan & community residents in celebration of EARTH DAY on April 25.

This event was made possible by a partnership between the Union County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Elizabeth, and Groundwork Elizabeth. Phillips 66, Terence C. Reilly School No. 7, the Elizabeth Branch NAACP, and other community partners came out to plant trees and spread awareness on how to keep our planet sustainable.

Rahway, NJ – “Pete the Cat”

Commissioner colleagues and the City of Rahway offered a Sensory Friendly Theatre (SFT) experience, part of a series of live performances specifically designed and adapted for children with autism and similar sensory sensitivity.

On Sunday, April 24, “Pete the Cat” was shown at the Union County Performing Arts Center, 1601 Irving Street, Rahway.

“Pete the Cat” is a fictional cartoon cat, created by American artist James Dean.

Fearless Girls Empowerment – Galloping Hill Golf Course

County Commissioners participated in the 2022 Fearless Girls Empowerment Conference at the Galloping Hill Golf Course. 

This conference was presented by The Union County Department of Human Services, the Union County Youth Services Commission, in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Proceed, Inc. The full day empowerment event featured, golf lessons, speakers, workshops, food, entertainment and more.
