New Jersey – 1st annual Portuguese Flag-raising in Hudson County

Hudson County honored Portugal with its first flag-raising ceremony last Thursday, June 2. The event took place at the historical Brennan Courthouse Rotunda in Jersey City.

Attending the event were numerous Hudson County officials and also from East Newark and Harrison. The momentous occasion was highlighted by honor guards singing our National Anthem and the Portuguese National Anthem. Dr. Pedro Monteiro, consul-general of Portugal and honorable guests gave their remarks.
